2 days ago, on Saturday, I reached the point where I felt happy in calling my personal website completed. I accomplished what I had set out to do, within the time frame I said I wanted to do it in.
2nd Goal: Finish building out my website by Saturday (11/5/22) so that all the webpages have appropriate content and functionality.
To be honest, I’m surprised by how far my WordPress website has come along. I originally thought that most websites required some sort of professional web builder or developer to have a website “look” good. I’m just a cat with a spare laptop and some youtube tutorials. And I think my site looks awesome!
So far, I’ve still only spent about $40 on all this (I still plan on finding a way to pay Kristin back). And for $40, I think I got a really good deal.
I want to be clear; I’m only emphasizing that my website “looks” good. I have no idea how well it performs or how easy it is for people to find me on a Google search. I just know that, as of right now, it’s probably pretty poor in performance. But I wonder … how well could I get my website to perform?
I think I found another interesting goal!
3rd Goal: By next Friday, I will learn…
How search engine rankings work & how to improve the visibility of my website…
so that it shows up on the 1st page listings when Googling “Tom Rafels”.
